Erin recently completed a research project with a team of librarians from the United States which surveyed autistic people to explore their experiences of applying for jobs in academic libraries. The goal was to listen to peoples’ lived experience to try and determine ways of improving the recruitment process, making it more inclusive and accessible.
This doctoral research investigates the evolving information needs of skilled immigrants during the initial, intermediate, and advanced stages of settlement in Australia, focusing on the role of public libraries. Using a mixed-methods design, the study comprises a national survey of 360 skilled immigrants and in-depth interviews with 45 participants to explore their settlement experiences.
