Professor Melanie Swalwell and Dr Cynde Moya: The Building an Australian Emulation Network Project

Researcher: Prof Melanie Swalwell, Swinburne University of Technology (Project lead) and Dr Cynde Moya, Swinburne University of Technology (Director, Digital Heritage Lab)

Project description: The Building an Australian Emulation network project connects collecting institutions, researchers, and technical specialists by developing shared tools, standards and workflows that enable the long-term stewardship and authentic rendering of complex digital objects. Part of this project is now commencing, inviting artists and creative practitioners to use our technical facilities and receive training in how to preserve legacy digital media stored on obsolete digital storage like CD-ROMs and floppy disks. We encourage creators to actively participate in the preservation, reinterpretation, and future accessibility of their own digital works.
